Hi everyone! I’m absolutely thrilled to share another behind-the-scenes look at my ongoing animatronic project – Nosey! For those of you who've been following along, you know this robot has been a passion project of mine, and seeing it slowly take shape is incredibly rewarding. Many of you have asked about Nosey, wondering what kind of animatronic it is, or if I have any sketches or drawings. Well, let me tell you, the journey from concept to a tangible robot like Nosey involves so many intricate steps! It all starts with countless hours of drawing and sketching. I spend a lot of time on paper, bringing ideas for Nosey's face and head to life. These early drawings are crucial for defining its character and ensuring that the final animatronic has the personality I envision. Every line, every angle, contributes to how Nosey will ultimately look and interact. One of the biggest challenges in building any animatronic, especially one like Nosey, is ensuring structural integrity and fluid movement. Today’s big win was installing Nosey’s elbow foundations. This might sound like a small detail, but believe me, it's monumental! These foundations are the backbone of Nosey's arm articulation. Without strong, precisely aligned elbow structures, Nosey wouldn't be able to achieve natural-looking movements or even stand up properly. I've been meticulously working on the engineering aspects, selecting the right materials, and making sure every joint is reinforced. The goal is for Nosey to eventually stand tall and proud, and these elbow mechanisms are absolutely key to achieving that kind of stability and height. It’s truly a blend of art and engineering. While I’m focused on the mechanics that allow Nosey to stand and move, I'm also constantly thinking about its overall appearance. What kind of art will define Nosey? How will its parts come together to form a cohesive and intriguing robot? The mechanical elements, like these foundations, are designed not just for function but also to support the aesthetic vision. They are the hidden strength behind what will eventually be a captivating animatronic. Some of you might even be wondering, 'Is Nosey the animatronic a threat?' Haha, absolutely not! This project is purely a creative endeavor, a testament to what passion and engineering can achieve. Every component, from its head to its foundational elbows, is carefully planned and constructed for artistic expression and interaction, not anything menacing. It’s all about bringing a unique robot character to life through careful design and construction. Next up, I’ll be focusing on connecting the motors and starting some initial programming tests for the arm movements. It’s an exciting phase, and I can’t wait to share more progress with you all.
