What’s your biggest cooking dealbreaker? 👀

Comment COOK and I’ll send you the details to my cooking community.

Mine? Jarlic. Cold tortillas. And yes… if you don’t heat up your tortillas, I’m probably going to call you out on it. 😂

But here’s the bigger reason I made this post…

Social media makes cooking look like it’s all Wagyu steaks and lobster mac and cheese. That’s not how most families eat.

I created my cooking community to help everyday people learn a life skill that saves money and builds confidence in the kitchen.

You get to cook with me as I guide you step by step, plus you’ll have access to 450+ exclusive recipes and direct access to me. If you’ve ever tried messaging me on social media, you already know it can take me forever to reply. Inside the community, you get the red carpet treatment because I’m there to help.

So… what’s your biggest cooking dealbreaker? 👇

... Read moreCooking dealbreakers, like the infamous "jarlic" or cold tortillas, might seem minor but can truly affect the joy and quality of a meal. From personal experience, I've found that heating tortillas before eating makes a huge difference in taste and texture—it's a simple step that elevates the dish and shows care in preparation. Many home cooks underestimate how these small details impact the overall experience. Being part of a cooking community has helped me learn these nuances and provided encouragement to experiment without fear of failure. Social media often portrays cooking as an elite activity focused on extravagant dishes, but most of us need practical, budget-friendly meals we can enjoy every day. That's why a supportive group with step-by-step recipes can change your approach, making kitchen time fun instead of stressful. For example, I once overlooked heating my tortillas and was surprised by how a quick warm-up transformed the meal's flavor. Also, understanding the right way to use garlic—not overpowering, not soggy—helped deepen my appreciation for balanced cooking. Sharing these small dealbreakers and personal tips within a community creates a space where everyone grows together. If you've ever felt judged for your cooking choices, remember that these quirks are what make home cooking relatable and enjoyable. Embracing your own dealbreakers and learning from others can boost confidence and save money by reducing reliance on takeout. So, what's your biggest cooking dealbreaker, and how have you turned it into a learning opportunity?

On your recipes. I have had my stomach half of it taken out, and pulled up to. For a throat disease I had and my espaulgus tube was taken out to except about 3 " of it's left. Can not handle a lot of heat in my food especially at night. It will make me sick, and can't eat a lot spicy at night. Can eat it during the day time. It doesn't brother me that time of day. I do like a little mild heat. Can you suggest anything different for me. Thanks Laura
