... Read moreWow, I'm still buzzing from finishing this Kokomi fan art! Creating this digital work-in-progress drawing has been such a fun journey, especially since it's my late birthday piece. I really wanted to challenge myself this year with something detailed, and Kokomi's design, with her beautiful pink and blue hair and intricate light blue hooded outfit, was perfect. I even tried to capture her signature playful side by including a white cartoonish plush toy in her hand, just like in some of her official art. It’s always exciting to see an anime character come to life on the screen. When I started thinking about doing a 'Kokomi birthday art' piece, I scoured Pinterest for 'birthday drawing reference' ideas and 'aesthetic pinterest girl' art for inspiration. It's amazing how much you can learn from observing different artists' approaches to 'anime art' and 'cute digital art'. I often wonder about 'Kokomi beta design' concepts too, imagining how her look might have evolved. For this piece, I relied heavily on a clear reference image of Kokomi to make sure I got all her features just right, but I also wanted to infuse a bit of my own touch, making it uniquely mine. Sometimes, incorporating elements from a 'jelly art style' can give characters a softer, more vibrant feel, which I absolutely adore! Digital art has really changed my drawing process. I use my drawing tablet and software, and it allows for so much flexibility, especially with colors, layering, and effects. For anyone looking to start their own 'birthday drawing anime' or even just explore 'oc ideas drawing', I'd say don't be afraid to experiment with different art styles. What works for one character might not work for another, and that's part of the fun! I’ve been trying to broaden my horizons and sometimes browse for 'girl drawing y2k' for fashion inspiration, or even dabble in 'pixel art' just to see how different mediums challenge me. It's been a year of huge improvement for me, and I'm so stoked to see how my art continues to grow. The feedback and encouragement from fellow artists and friends mean the world. There’s something incredibly rewarding about taking a concept, like a specific pose or expression from a 'birthday art reference', and transforming it into your own interpretation. This Kokomi piece, with its vibrant palette and cheerful vibe, really feels like a celebration of my artistic journey this past year. I'm already thinking about my next 'digital art' project – maybe another Genshin Impact character, or exploring completely new themes. Sharing this 'digital work-in-progress drawing' feels like a milestone, and I hope it inspires someone else to pick up their pen and create something beautiful!
