Spooky season movie night (kid friendly)
Kicking off spooky season with a movie night with the kiddos! (Reviews under description)
We picked monsters inc, and our movie night menu came with sour spooky creepy crawlers, Franken corn, chocolate chip cookies, and Frankie floats! I made a bed/ pallet in the floor with the kids blankets and pillows, kicked off the lights, let my Halloween decor light up the room and BOOM! A successful movie night! Give it up for spooky season!
- creepy crawler sour candy: this didn’t achieve what I originally set out to accomplish. I wanted a sour patch kids taste but the kids said they were too sour and didn’t even have a gummy taste. They were very cute though and only $1.24 at Walmart.

- next we have the Franken corn. It was just popped corn from Walmart using great value kernels and butter. I did add the movie theater butter spray to it. So pretty basic. However- I’m giving myself bonus points for drawing the Frankenstein on the little bags. I used regular brown lunch bags, cut them down to size and then drew the Frankie on them using a black sharpie. All items needed were purchased from Walmart.

- up next is the chocolate chip cookies. This is basic pillsbury take and bake cookies. I love to make them during the holiday months and store in Tupperware for the kids to grab for a snack.

- Frankie floats!!! These were my favorite to make! I had some clear to go cups, so I grabbed a sharpie and drew on a Frankie. Can you tell Frankenstein is my favorite? 🤣 there wasn’t much to the making of them. I drew the picture further away from the rim so I didn’t risk the kids touch it to their mouth and getting a big taste of sharpie! I recommend that for sure! Then I lined the rim in funfetti green icing and rolled the rims in the sprinkles. It didn’t really add a taste factor because the boys used straws but I loved the idea and wanted to do it anyway. The little eyeballs are so cute and perfect for the drink. Next, you add like sherbet, and pour sprite over it. I’ve read you can use Hawaiian Punch too! After pouring the sprite I allowed the drinks to sit for a short time to allow it to mix and turn the Franken green color! Finally I popped straws into the cups and voila! Frankie floats. The taste was good. A little tart for my personal taste but the kids liked them!
Over all rating: 8/10
I was super satisfied with how it turned out and just used some baskets I already had at the house to hold everything. The kids loved it and there’s never a bad time to watch monster inc!
