how I reduced my skin texture in 4 months
1. Replacing my pillow case with a silk pillow case. And wash it weekly! Since I break out on my cheeks, I thought it might be because of the pillow case because I am a side sleeper. I tried the method I mentioned above for couple weeks and I saw results instantly! Another thing that confirms my theory is when I went on vacation and did not sleep on a silky pillowcase, I started to get texture again in the same area. So try this if you have texture on the same area as mine
2. Finding the right moisturizer for your skin. When I started to only use gel moisturizer, my skin stopped breakout on my cheeks area. Maybe the moisturizer I used before might be too occlusive? 🤷🏻♀️
3. Food specially sugar seems to break me out. I went on a sugar free diet for a month and my skin clears up really well! So look into your diets and see which one is your trigger. Usually it is sugar, processed food, fried food, junk food are the culprits
Those are the things that I’ve changed up and seen significant changes. Normally, I also use BHA, sunscreen, retinol, antioxidants, so over time those also help as well! so I included them in case you guys are curious which skincare products I use. However, I’ve been using these skincare products for years so to say these are THE ONES that help the most would not be exactly true! That’s why I didn’t go into details about these products and only mentioned the most significant changes I’ve made and saw results from them. The products are basically cherries on top 😄
As always remember to be patient! Consisteyis key!

Building on my journey to smoother skin, I wanted to share a few more insights that helped refine my results and keep textured skin at bay. While lifestyle changes were definitely my game-changers, understanding how certain elements support healthy skin has been crucial for maintaining that 'before & after' glow. Beyond just cutting sugar, I noticed a huge difference when I focused on a more anti-inflammatory diet. Think plenty of colorful fruits and vegetables, healthy fats, and staying super hydrated with water throughout the day. Our skin often reflects our gut health, so nourishing our bodies from the inside out is a key step towards naturally smooth skin texture. Also, remember to keep anything that touches your face, like your phone screen, clean! For those persistent textured areas, I found that gentle exfoliation plays a supportive role. While the core changes were impactful, incorporating a liquid exfoliant containing BHA, as mentioned, really helped with cell turnover and keeping pores clear without irritation. It's about finding that balance for 'smooth skin texture after exfoliation' without overdoing it. Over time, I've also learned the benefits of other supportive ingredients. Retinol serum, for example, used consistently and slowly introduced, can be fantastic for long-term texture refinement and evening out skin tone. And for tackling hyper-pigmentation and boosting overall radiance (which I also saw improve!), a vitamin C serum in the mornings became a staple. These aren't quick fixes, but they definitely complement the foundational changes. And of course, sunscreen every single day is non-negotiable for preventing new texture issues and hyper-pigmentation, protecting all that hard work. It all comes back to patience and consistency, just like I learned in my initial four months!
