From enlisting in May 2016 to where I am today, it’s been a decade filled with challenges , growth, and unforgettable experiences 📈📉

10 years later, I’m humbled to receive the SAF Long Service and Good Conduct (10 Years) Medal and to be promoted to 3WO! 🥳

The journey wasn’t always easy. There were countless outfields, overseas exercises, secondary taskings, and personal sacrifices along the way. Every challenge has shaped me into the person, leader and trainer I strive to be today 💪🏻

None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of my wife, family, friends, colleagues, and everyone who believed in me throughout this journey 🫶🏻

The 10 Year Service Medal is not just a ribbon or decoration—it symbolizes years of commitment, resilience through tough trainings and deployments, and personal sacrifices that are often unseen. Throughout my SAF journey, the numerous outfield exercises and overseas tasks sharpened not only my military skills but also my leadership. Balancing secondary tasks alongside primary duties was challenging yet essential in molding me into a better trainer and leader for my team. Equally important was the unwavering support from my family and friends. Their belief in me made the mountains easier to climb. For those serving in the SAF aiming for similar milestones, I encourage embracing each challenge as an opportunity for growth—whether it’s a late-night exercise or honing discipline in daily routines. Receiving this medal and rank promotion has deepened my appreciation for the SAF’s mission to safeguard our nation’s peace and security. It’s a testament to loyalty, dedication, and a spirit of service I strive to uphold every day. If you’re on this path, remember that perseverance coupled with strong support systems makes the journey worthwhile. These experiences have not only shaped my military career but also enriched my personal life, instilling values of discipline, care for society, and ethical leadership that transcend beyond the uniform.
