developing good or even neutral relationships with pre-health advisors do not come easy. for some reason, my tiktok fyp was filled with horror stories with these advisors— from them telling the student that they are not good enough to encouraging the student a major change.
here’s how i approach meetings with my advisors:
1. get to know them personally!! start the beginning portion of the meeting by asking interpersonal questions like you want to befriend them. Maintain privacy and respect though.
2. show enthusiasm! give them your contact information and ask them to reach out to you if any opportunity comes up. the early bird gets the worm!
