1 Year Update Following Daniel Fast✨

This time last year I did the Daniel fast. A few weeks in, the lord laid on my heart that I would be serving in my church, something big. Days following I had dreams, I had so many things align that I would be teaching kids. I thought to myself, God.. my children are already enough for me, how can I handle more? He is not going to set you up for failure. He is not going to give you something he thinks you cannot do.

I have been teaching our Littles class for almost a year now. Fasting is important for god to show you what’s next in your life, to grow your relationship with him and many other things your heart desires. Its laying down your flesh/ personal desires for him. If you are in the middle of doing the Daniel fast or any fast, stick with it. Deny your flesh and give it all to him. You may have no idea the outcome! 🫶🏼🤎🎞️

The fast became a way for me to quiet my mind and listen deeply to what God was guiding me toward. Early on, I had moments of doubt—wondering if I could take on more responsibility while already caring for my own children. But as I continued, I began experiencing peace and clarity that reassured me this was the right path. Teaching the Littles class in our church has become one of the most rewarding roles I could have imagined. It is not merely about sharing stories like Jonah and the Whale or David and Goliath, but about nurturing faith in young hearts and being a source of encouragement for them. It’s incredible how fasting has helped strengthen my patience and empathy, qualities essential for teaching children. One thing I learned is that fasting isn’t about just denying yourself food—it’s about surrendering personal desires and becoming open to God’s plans. When I dedicated those days to fasting, I noticed my spiritual sensitivity heighten, allowing me to see opportunities and dreams come to life that I hadn’t anticipated. This aligns with scriptures reminding us that God is always with us during challenges (Joshua 1:9), providing courage and strength. For anyone considering the Daniel Fast or any fasting practice, I encourage you to stay committed. It might be difficult initially, but the outcomes—spiritual growth, clearer direction, and closer connection to God—are more than worth it. Fasting can reveal hidden purposes and push us out of comfort zones into roles where we can make a meaningful difference. This past year has shown me that surrender leads to blessings I never expected, confirming that God equips us for every step if we just trust and say yes.
