Guys I’m scared🥲 just getting up there to sing is gonna be such a proud moment for me
Practicing a talent like singing, especially when dealing with a mental block, can be incredibly daunting. I remember feeling so scared before my very first practice session for the Miss Utah talent competition because I had never sung in front of others. This fear stems from self-doubt and the pressure to perform well, which can be paralyzing at times. What helped me overcome this was breaking down the practice into smaller, less intimidating steps. I started by singing just for myself, then gradually for close friends or family. This built my confidence slowly and created a supportive environment where I could make mistakes without judgment. Another important aspect was focusing on the joy of singing rather than perfection. Embracing that imperfection is part of the journey allowed me to release some of the tension and enjoy the process more. Breathing exercises and mindfulness also helped reduce anxiety before getting on stage. Sharing this experience reminds me that many people face similar fears when trying something new or performing in front of others. The proud moment of standing up there to sing, despite the nervousness, is a huge achievement worth celebrating. If you’re struggling with a mental block around singing or any other talent, just remember that every small step forward counts and being proud of your effort is what truly matters.
