🤎 12 Months, 12 Friends, 12 Recommendations 🤎
I tried this challenge last year and failed miserably 😬 Here’s to hoping I can complete it this year.
To be honest some of my most favorite reads last year came from recommendations or book club picks. Books that I would have probably never picked up otherwise.
So I’m eager to see if any of these books will be 5 star reads for me.
I’m not sure how I want to do this for this year though 🤔 Should I let the mood reader in me pick each month, should I do a random drawing each month, or should I do TBR prompt and pick the one that fits?
💠QOTD: What was a FIVE star read for you that was recommended by someone?

The concept of a reading challenge, especially one tied to friends and recommendations, is engaging and can significantly enhance your reading experience. By participating in the 12 Months, 12 Friends challenge, you expose yourself to diverse genres and narratives that you may not encounter through traditional reading habits. Consider how recommendations can open doors to hidden gems. For instance, you might find yourself loving a contemporary romance or a thought-provoking non-fiction book that your close friends resonate with. Engaging with your reading community also offers a platform for discussion, camaraderie, and shared discovery. To successfully navigate your reading challenge, consider setting monthly themes or asking for suggestions based on specific genres. This could include anything from thrillers to fantasy or even non-fiction. For example, if February focuses on romance, you might explore titles such as 'It Ends with Us' by Colleen Hoover or 'The Kiss Quotient' by Helen Hoang. Additionally, utilizing social media platforms like Instagram, especially bookstagram communities, can enrich your experience through visual recommendations and reviews. Just like any other forms of art, storytelling through books evolves; by embracing community-driven suggestions, you may find voices and narratives that resonate deeply with you. As each month progresses, keep a reading journal to reflect on your thoughts and feelings regarding each title; this practice not only enriches your reading but also helps you connect threads between different stories or themes. Lastly, don’t forget to share your journey and experiences with your friends, encouraging them to participate or suggest their favorite books as well.
