You’re Ignoring What’s Important
Here’s an unpopular opinion.
Healing isn't always soft.
Sometimes it's discipline. Sometimes it's grief.
Sometimes it's saying, "This version of me has to go."
It's not always pretty.
But it's always worth it.

Healing is a complex journey that often involves confronting uncomfortable emotions and making difficult choices. Many people associate healing with comfort and self-care activities like journaling, candle-lit baths, and positive affirmations. While these practices play a role, they don't encompass the full spectrum of what healing really entails. True healing requires us to engage in the tough conversations we've been avoiding, hold ourselves accountable, and sit with discomfort rather than numb it. Moreover, part of the healing process often involves releasing relationships that no longer serve us, even if we still hold affection for those individuals. It's about doing the hard, often 'boring' work that nobody else sees, like establishing boundaries or tackling personal challenges head-on. Embracing the realities of healing can lead us to deeper growth and resilience. In this light, it’s important to remember that although the journey may not be beautiful, it is certainly worthwhile and transformative.
