This is the way I explained this Bible verse to my son..
Sometimes we make decisions or do things that do not make God happy. But God is so loving and forgiving that when we ask for forgiveness and mean it with our whole heart, he forgives us. I then gave him examples..
We ask God to forgive us and then we have to turn to Jesus. Then God, he makes our heart completely clean and pure just like the snow. What color is the snow? He responds white.
Our sins make us dirty..Do you like being dirty or clean? God wants us to be clean. To have a clean heart.
His hands had a little marker on them so I said “let’s go wash your hands we want clean hands just like Hod wants us to have a clean heart. Lets go wash wash wash..” when your hands get all messy with like now or with mud or paint you have to wash them, they become clean again, right? God's washing is like that, but for our hearts and mistakes! Once we ask for forgiveness he washes us! God is so good! ❤️
