Some Days I Still Don’t Know How to Talk About It

Grief doesn’t follow a schedule. Some days I wake up feeling almost normal, like I can carry the weight without noticing it so much. Other days, it feels like the sadness is sitting right on my chest, heavy and unmovable.

I never really got over it I just learned how to move alongside it.

There are moments when I’m laughing, working, living and suddenly a memory, a smell, a song will stop me in my tracks.

It’s such a strange thing how you can be surrounded by people, yet still feel so alone in your sadness.

Grief made the world look different to me. It slowed everything down, made little moments feel bigger, made simple days feel sacred.

Some days, I still don’t know how to talk about it. I don’t always have the words.

But I’m learning that it’s okay. I’m allowed to have quiet days. I’m allowed to have messy days.

If you’re grieving too whether it’s a recent loss or one from years ago just know that you are seen.

Be gentle with yourself. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting.

It means learning how to live again, even with a little more softness in your heart.🌼 #relationship #griefjourney #mygriefjourney #lifelessons #grief

... Read moreGrief is a complex and deeply personal experience that can manifest in many ways. Many individuals, after losing someone they love, find themselves trapped in a cycle of emotions. These range from moments of joy to unexpected triggers that can bring back feelings of deep sadness. It's crucial to recognize that there's no one-size-fits-all approach to understanding or expressing grief. The uncertainty of how to express these feelings can be overwhelming. One day may bring moments of clarity and normalcy, while the next may feel like a heavy weight on the chest, reminding you of the loss. Grieving is not a linear path; it often feels like a rollercoaster of emotions. As you navigate this journey, remember that it's okay to have days when you don't feel like talking about it or when the words simply don’t come. People often expect you to 'move on' after a certain period, but it's essential to understand that healing is not synonymous with forgetting. Instead, it involves learning how to live with your memories and the pain, allowing oneself to feel both happy and sad without judgment. Embracing your emotions, whether they are light or heavy, is a vital part of the healing process. Moreover, finding a community or support group where others share their experiences can be immensely beneficial. It allows you to feel less alone in your journey and opens up avenues for sharing and healing together. Remember, whether your loss is recent or years in the past, it’s valid. Allow yourself to grieve in your own way and time, and don't hesitate to reach out for support when you need it.

I’ve lost so many that I stay in grief. People don’t understand! I feel like I can’t escape it. Most days I’m down and don’t wanna do anything. I want the grief to go away but not the memories of my loved one’s. 😥😥💔

I have had similar feelings since losing my grandpa in 2023, I still have moments where the grief hits and I feel the deep sadness as if no time has gone by. It honestly feels like sometimes I am the only one in my family that really even still feels his loss. I think thats partly because I felt so connected to him because we shared our birthday.
