KFC Twisters Review

Tried all four KFC Twisters. The Classic, Spicy, Bacon, and Spicy Bacon. First off they’re all really easy to eat. The tortilla is soft, the chicken is crispy, and they’re a good size for a quick meal or snack. They look good but I was expecting a little more flavor, especially from the ones labeled .spicy

Classic Twister . Crispy chicken, soft tortilla, lettuce + tomato. Balanced, simple, but nothing amazing. Rating: 6/10

Spicy Twister. Supposed to be spicy but really mild. Chicken and sauce are fine. Rating: 6/10

Bacon Twister . Bacon adds flavor, chicken still crispy. Decent but not memorable. Rating: 6/10

Spicy Bacon Twister . Combines bacon + spice but again, very mild. Rating: 6/10

Overall All four Twisters are just okay. None are truly spicy, but they’re easy to eat and decent for a quick meal. Would I reorder? Maybe if I was craving a wrap, but not a must have.

... Read moreOkay, so after trying all four KFC Twisters, I wanted to dive a little deeper than just the quick ratings. You know how it is when you see a new menu item, especially something like a 'KFC Twister sandwich,' you want to know everything before you spend your hard-earned money, right? Especially with the prices ranging from $4.99 for the Classic and Spicy to $5.99 for the Bacon and Spicy Bacon versions, you're looking for value and flavor. Let's talk about the 'Crunch Twister KFC' aspect first, because honestly, the chicken is crispy. That's one thing they got right across the board. It's that classic KFC fried chicken texture you expect, wrapped up in a soft tortilla. For the Classic and Bacon Twisters, the simplicity is key. You've got the crispy chicken, fresh lettuce, and a slice of tomato, all bound together with a creamy sauce – I'm guessing it's some form of mayo or a mild pepper mayo. It's straightforward, but as I mentioned in my initial review, it's not going to blow your mind. It's a solid, easy-to-eat snack or a light lunch if you're in a hurry. Now, for the 'spicy' claims. Both the Spicy Twister and the Spicy Bacon Twister really let me down on the heat. I was picturing a zesty kick, maybe a sauce similar to their Zinger burgers, but it was incredibly mild. It tasted more like a slightly seasoned mayo than anything genuinely spicy. If you're someone who loves a good kick, you'll definitely need to look elsewhere or maybe ask for a side of their hot sauce to amp it up yourself. It's a shame, because a genuinely spicy sauce could really elevate these. The OCR also noted the "Spicy Bacon Twister is described as mild with good chicken and bacon," which perfectly aligns with my experience. Considering the price point, especially the $5.99 for the bacon versions, I have to ask: is it worth it? For a quick, convenient bite, maybe. But if you're looking for a substantial meal or something packed with flavor, you might find yourself wanting more. For comparison, for a similar price, you could probably get a more filling chicken sandwich or even a couple of their classic chicken pieces. The value proposition here feels a bit on the lower side, especially since the flavors are just "okay." My personal tip? If you're curious about the KFC Twister sandwich and decide to try one, go for the Bacon Twister if you like the smoky flavor, or the Classic if you want something simple. And if you’re brave enough to try the ‘spicy’ ones, manage your expectations for heat! I definitely recommend adding your own hot sauce if you have some on hand. It's great for a grab-and-go situation, but don't expect a gourmet experience. It's a decent option if you're craving a wrap and are at KFC, but it's not going to become a regular must-have on my order list. Perhaps they could introduce a 'Crunch Zinger Twister' with more actual spice to satisfy folks like me! It's all about finding that perfect balance of convenience, flavor, and value, and the current Twister menu item lineup is still a work in progress in my book.
