Planning a pet-friendly vacation can be a game-changer for dog owners, turning a simple trip into an unforgettable adventure for both you and your furry friend. My recent trip to San Francisco with Molly, my German Shepherd, truly highlighted how incredible these experiences can be. Beyond just finding a welcoming place to stay, there’s so much more to consider to ensure everyone has a fantastic time! Choosing the Right Pet-Friendly Accommodation: While the Harbor Court Hotel was a fantastic 10/10 choice for us, it's worth noting what to look for when booking. Always double-check pet policies – some hotels have weight limits or breed restrictions, which is important for owners of larger dogs like German Shepherds. Don't just assume 'pet-friendly' means 'pet-free.' A pet fee is common, but knowing it upfront avoids surprises. Look for hotels near parks or green spaces for easy potty breaks, and ask if they offer pet amenities like bowls, beds, or even treats upon arrival – it’s those little touches that make a big difference! Exploring San Francisco with Your Dog: San Francisco is incredibly dog-friendly, offering more than just the amazing Blue & Gold Fleet boat ride (where pets ride free!). After cruising past landmarks like Alcatraz and underneath the stunning Golden Gate Bridge, consider exploring other iconic spots. Many parts of Golden Gate Park are dog-friendly, especially areas like the Great Meadow. Fort Funston, with its dramatic cliffs and off-leash areas, is a favorite among local dog owners. Even walking along parts of the Embarcadero offers great views with your pup by your side. Always check local leash laws and ensure your dog is comfortable in crowds, especially in busy tourist areas. I always kept Molly on her red bandana and harness for safety and easy identification. Expanded Dog Mom Essentials for Travel: My original list covered the basics, but for a longer trip, I always pack a bit more. Beyond extra water and dog food, consider: Portable water bowl: Crucial for staying hydrated on walks. Comfort items: Molly’s favorite blanket or a familiar toy helps her feel secure in new places. First-aid kit for dogs: Bandages, antiseptic wipes, tweezers (for splinters/ticks), and any prescribed medications. Waste bags: Always, always have plenty! Be a responsible pet parent. Identification: Ensure tags are up-to-date, and consider microchipping if you haven't already. Leash and harness: A sturdy harness and leash are essential for control and comfort, especially in urban environments. Pet sunscreen: Yes, even dogs, especially those with short fur or light noses, can get sunburned! Proof of vaccinations: Some establishments might ask for this. Traveling with Molly has taught me that preparation is key to a stress-free adventure. Seeing her happy, whether watching the sunset from the boat or sleeping soundly after a day of exploring, makes every effort worthwhile. San Francisco truly offers a 'woof-tastic' experience for pets and their parents!

Please how did you ride the boat ? And how much dose it cost per person ?
