... Read moreHey everyone! Building on the idea of transforming our social media, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into how we can truly embody the Fruits of the Spirit online. It's not always easy to navigate the digital world with grace, but I've been learning so much from accounts like @holylightliving on TikTok, who really show what 'light living' looks like. It's inspired me to think of my own feed as a personal 'campaign' for good. Let's break down a few of these beautiful fruits and how they can shine through our posts: Love: For me, showing love on social media means being empathetic and supportive. Instead of quick judgments, I try to offer encouragement or a listening ear in comments. It’s about sharing content that lifts others up, not tears them down. Joy: This isn't just about constant happiness, but a deep-seated gladness. I aim to share moments of gratitude, small blessings, or even just a funny, wholesome meme that genuinely brings a smile. It's about radiating positivity, even when discussing serious topics. Peace: Oh, peace online! This is a big one. I've learned that cultivating peace means knowing when to disengage from debates that lead nowhere, and instead, sharing calming visuals or reflective thoughts. It's about being a voice of calm amidst the noise, reminding myself (and others) to find stillness. Patience: How often do we get frustrated with online interactions? Practicing patience means giving people the benefit of the doubt, waiting before reacting, and understanding that not everyone communicates in the same way. Sometimes, it means patiently explaining a perspective rather than dismissing another. Kindness & Goodness: These go hand-in-hand. I try to ensure my posts and comments are always kind, even if I disagree. Sharing resources, offering genuine compliments, or posting about causes close to my heart are ways I try to show goodness. It's about actively doing good through my digital presence. Thinking of our social media presence as a 'campaign' might sound a bit formal, but for me, it simply means being intentional. Just like @holylightliving seems to have a clear vision for their content, I'm trying to curate my feed with a purpose. This means: Setting clear intentions: What message do I want to convey? What feeling do I want to leave my followers with? Consistency: Regularly sharing content that aligns with these fruits, not just once in a while. Engaging thoughtfully: Responding to comments with patience and kindness, fostering a positive community. Audience consideration: Thinking about who I'm trying to reach and what might resonate with them in a wholesome way. It's about creating a consistent stream of 'light living' content that reflects my faith journey. So, how can we start? Reflect before you post: Ask yourself, 'Does this post embody love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, or self-control?' Follow inspiring accounts: Like the 'holylightliving' example, find profiles that genuinely radiate these qualities. Use visuals intentionally: Share images or videos that evoke peace, beauty, or positive emotions. Be a responder, not just a poster: Engage in comments with empathy and grace. Don't be afraid to share your journey: It’s okay to be vulnerable about your spiritual growth; it can inspire others! It's a continuous journey, but imagine the collective impact if we all intentionally cultivated feeds that truly reflect the Fruits of the Spirit. It's not about being perfect, but about striving to let our light shine online.
