Our flexible wardrobe design
Instead of opting for the usual casement or sliding wardrobes, I drew inspiration from a single Xiao Hong Shu moodboard and reimagined our bedrooms with soft, arc-shaped wardrobes.
Every detail was designed with flexibility in mind, from sketches and measurements to partitions, shelving, and loose furniture.
This thoughtful approach ensures the space can adapt to future changes, such as the addition of extra drawers or accommodating kids someday.
The highlight of the design is a full-height curtain that softens the overall look, conceals clutter, and provides the freedom of an open-concept space without the mess.

Drawing from my personal renovation journey, I found that flexibility in wardrobe design is invaluable, especially in homes where needs evolve over time. One tip I learned from using the Xiao Hong Shu app was to incorporate loose furniture pieces like a dresser vanity table from IKEA, which allows you to quickly reconfigure your storage as requirements change. For example, we dedicated top compartments for seasonal items, such as winter travel clothes, that are only used occasionally. This keeps everyday essentials within easy reach while optimizing storage. Another game-changer was adding a full-height curtain instead of traditional wardrobe doors. This not only softens the visual impact of the arc-shaped wardrobes but also hides clutter effectively without restricting access. The curtain creates an open-concept feel while maintaining a tidy appearance, which is especially useful in smaller spaces or shared bedrooms. From color choices to partition layout, each element was thoughtfully planned to accommodate potential future changes—whether adding extra drawer units or adjusting to family growth. For anyone considering a luxury yet practical wardrobe design in Singapore, I’d recommend looking for inspirations that blend aesthetics with adaptability. This way, your storage solution can keep pace with your lifestyle, no matter how it transforms.
