Savings Tips for the Faith Builder✨💕
Bestie, as a child of God, I don’t believe I should lack anything. (Psalms 23:1)
So, as his child, I’ve been asking for him to help me steward what he gives me in every area of my life.
Including my finances…
Here is the exact script...if you are ready to get that billed lowered too, Bestie.
Me:
Hi, I’d like to review my account and lower my monthly bill. Right now, I’m paying about $132 and I want to bring it down to around $72-$77.
1.Please remove my Apple Watch line. I don’t need LTE service on my watch anymore, so I only want to keep my iPhone line active.
2.Please remove Protection 360 coverage from both my iPhone and Apple Watch. I’ve decided I don’t want insurance on my devices anymore.
3.I’d also like to move my main line from Go5G Plus down to either the Essentials plan or the Base Go5G plan, whichever keeps me around $72-$77 a month after removing the extras.
Them:
“Are you sure you want to remove insurance?”
Me:
“Yes, I understand the risks and I’d like to go ahead without it.”
Them: Still trying to upsell me into keeping Go5G Plus...
Me:
“I don’t need all the extra perks, no fluff, I just want unlimited talk, text, and data at the lowest cost.” In fact, can you transfer me to a manager.. (I learned this skill from my mom who has decades of experience with Southwestern Bell..now known as AT&T)
Them:...transferred to me to a manager..
Me: Go ahead and do the following:
Keep my •Go5G Plus Plan (phone only): $90 &
•iPhone protection 360: $15
But, remove the following:
•Apple Watch line: $0 (removed ✅)
•Apple Watch insurance: $0 (removed ✅)
I really like T-Mobile and have been here for years. I've also been shopping around and noticed that other carriers have lower cost. Do you have any credits that be applied to lower my cost to be less than $100 a month.
Manager:
We can do that...because you have been a loyal customer for more than five years.. (come on the number of grace) we will be taking off •Taxes/fees: ~$2
and give you a •$20 discount applied for the next 12 months!
Here’s what happened:
1.I took their $20 loyalty discount (don’t be afraid to ask for one, because I did!).
2.Removed my Apple Watch line (saved $15)...because I don't need to call people on my watch...I have a whole cell phone...why pay for two?
3.Removed Apple Watch insurance (saved $9)...because I will no longer need it.
4.Kept my iPhone insurance for now, but I can drop it later if I want to save even more.
✨Now I’m at $80ish a month instead of $132...and of course, I made sure to confirm the offers above to make sure it was heard on the recorded line!

For many faith builders, managing finances responsibly is a vital part of honoring their beliefs and living with purpose. The example shared demonstrates how with faith and practical action, you can steward your resources wisely. As highlighted in Philippians 4:18 and Psalms 23:1, trusting God does not mean neglecting prudent financial planning but combining spiritual confidence with practical steps. Negotiating your phone bill by calling customer service and requesting specific changes is a highly effective way to reduce monthly expenses. Many people overlook the power of asking for loyalty discounts, removal of unnecessary plans such as Apple Watch lines and insurance, and switching to lower-cost plans while maintaining essential services. If you are considering this approach, here are some additional savings tips: 1. **Track Your Current Usage:** Before calling, review your current phone usage including talk, text, and data. This information helps you choose a plan that fits your actual needs. 2. **Ask for All Available Discounts:** Beyond loyalty discounts, inquire about any promotions, autopay discounts, or bundled service offers that can lower your bill. 3. **Be Ready to Explain Your Needs Clearly:** Use a firm but polite script explaining you want the most affordable plan that meets your usage without unnecessary add-ons. 4. **Escalate When Necessary:** If the first agent can’t assist, politely request to be transferred to a manager who often has more authority to offer discounts. 5. **Consider Dropping Insurance:** Device insurance can add up monthly. If you can self-insure or have an emergency fund, this may be an area to save. 6. **Monitor Bills Regularly:** After changes, check your bill monthly to ensure discounts are applied and there are no surprises. As shared, the user lowered their bill from approximately $132 to about $80, with a loyalty discount and removal of the Apple Watch line and insurance—saving roughly $540 annually. These faith-driven stewardship practices exemplify managing resources wisely while embracing God’s provision. Moreover, if phone services are not your only expense, similar principles of negotiation and mindful spending can apply to utilities, subscriptions, and insurance policies. Faith and financial stewardship go hand in hand to create peace and stability in your life.
