Man Killed His Mother-In-Law
A horrifying scene unfolded in Queens, New York, when a man allegedly stabbed his mother-in-law to death, wounded a teenage boy, and set fire to their home in what police called a drunken rampage.
Authorities identified the victim as Qiujin Shi, 50, who died from multiple stab wounds. Her 17-year-old grandson was also stabbed in the face and armpit while trying to help, but survived and is now in stable condition.
According to investigators, the suspect, Shi’s son-in-law, attacked both victims before setting a mattress or part of the home on fire and attempting to harm himself. Neighbors reported hearing screams before firefighters and police arrived.
The motive remains under investigation, though early reports point to marital and family conflict. Police have charged the man with murder, arson, and attempted murder.
