What's your magic number?

There is so much talk out there about how loud, how busy, or how chaotic it must be. But what they don't tell you is how beautifully the pieces all fall into place. 🥹👇

Living in a smaller footprint means we are close ... by design. And watching four distinct personalities navigate this space together is the greatest privilege of my life.

You get to watch the older ones naturally step into mentorship, the younger ones find their footing with fierce confidence, and a built-in friendships form right before your eyes. They become each other's fiercest protectors, best friends, and constant playmates.

It’s loud, yes. The laundry is endless, and the grocery hauls are unmatched. But the fullness? The way they giggle at night? It’s unmatched, too.

In a world that tries to tell you that less is easier, my heart tells me every single day that four is exactly where the magic lives. They are growing up so tightly together, exactly how they’re supposed to.

If you’re in the thick of the big-family days, or dreaming of them, I hope this is your gentle reminder that you have what it takes and everything you need is already right inside you. ❤️

... Read moreHaving experienced the joys and challenges of larger family life myself, I can attest that four children create a special kind of magic you don't find with smaller family sizes. The dynamic is unique: the oldest often naturally becomes a mentor, helping the younger ones navigate their own growth, which fosters responsibility and confidence. Meanwhile, the younger siblings develop fierce independence and create lifelong bonds through shared experiences. One thing I’ve learned is that living in a smaller home or footprint brings everyone physically closer, encouraging more interaction, cooperation, and emotional connection. Yes, it’s noisy and sometimes hectic, but those moments of laughter at night or spontaneous games make every chaotic part worthwhile. Despite common narratives suggesting having fewer children is simpler or easier, the fuller family of four creates a rich environment for growth, friendship, and lifelong support networks within the family. From endless laundry to larger grocery runs, the practical side can be demanding but balanced by the emotional fullness and joy of seeing children grow closely together. If you’re contemplating or already in the whirlwind of raising four kids, remember that the strength and love you need are within you. This family size invites opportunities to witness natural mentorship, protectiveness, and friendship in a way that smaller families may not experience quite as intensely. It’s not just about managing chaos but embracing the deeply rewarding connections that flourish when four distinct personalities share their lives. Truly, four is a magic number that brings an unmatched fullness of love and togetherness.

It’s just my sister and I. I’d say it’s pretty perfect because we are each other’s best friends! And we’re both girls so we relate on almost everything even tho I’m 6 years older!
