As soon as I stepped off the ship, the vibrant colors and crystal-clear waters instantly put me in vacation mode. If you're planning a visit, here’s my take on making the most of your day in this slice of paradise. First things first, Cococay is Royal Caribbean's private island, and they've truly perfected the art of a perfect beach day. We started our adventure at the Thrill Waterpark, and let me tell you, Daredevil's Peak is not for the faint of heart! Sliding down that massive waterslide with incredible ocean views was an absolute rush. Afterward, we spent some time splashing around Oasis Lagoon, which is the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean. It’s huge, with swim-up bars and plenty of space to relax, making it perfect for both families and those looking for a lively atmosphere. For those seeking a more laid-back vibe, Chill Island lived up to its name. We found a cozy spot under a palm tree, rented some snorkeling gear, and explored the vibrant marine life just off the shore. The water was so clear, and spotting colorful fish was a real treat. If you’re willing to splurge a little, the Coco Beach Club offers an even more exclusive experience with private cabanas and an infinity pool – definitely on my list for next time! Food-wise, you won’t go hungry! There are several complimentary dining options like Skipper's Grill and Chill Grill, serving up delicious burgers, salads, and island-inspired dishes. Don't forget to grab a snack from the Snack Shack; their mozzarella sticks were surprisingly good after a swim! While drinks aren't included, keeping an eye out for drink package deals or bringing your own insulated cup for water is a great tip. Getting around the island is super easy, with complimentary tram services connecting all the major spots. My biggest tip for anyone visiting Cococay is to plan your day but also allow for spontaneity. We initially had a packed schedule, but some of the best moments were just lounging by the water, soaking in the Bahamian sun. Don't forget your sunscreen (a high SPF!), a good hat, and water shoes, especially if you plan on exploring the rocky areas or participating in water sports. And definitely bring a waterproof phone pouch to capture all those amazing memories! Overall, my day in Cococay was truly unforgettable. It’s the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, and I can't wait to go back and experience even more of its charm. If you're looking for an amazing tropical escape, add Cococay to your travel list – you won't regret it!
