In real life I’m crushed and devastated honestly 🥹
After the recent election results, I found myself overwhelmed with emotions. Supporting Jasmine Crockett and hoping for her victory was deeply important to me, and her loss felt like a personal setback. In a moment of honesty and self-motivation, I made a private promise that if she didn’t win, I would redirect my energy and start a new chapter by working at Becky’s Burger Barn, a fast-food place. Starting this job was both daunting and uplifting. It reminded me that resilience and adaptability are crucial during challenging times. Working in fast food is a strenuous, fast-paced environment where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to connect with people from all walks of life. While it’s a far cry from political activism, this experience has taught me valuable lessons about patience, hard work, and community engagement. What surprised me the most is how this new role helped me heal from the election disappointment. It gave me a purpose and a fresh perspective, proving that setbacks can lead to unexpected growth. For others facing similar feelings after a political loss or personal setback, I would say it’s okay to feel crushed, but also important to find ways to keep moving forward. Overall, this journey highlights how combining passion for change with practical steps to rebuild can create a path toward fulfillment—even after disappointing outcomes. Whether you’re supporting a candidate or navigating your own challenges, perseverance and openness to new experiences can help you find strength and renewal.
