Tips for rushing!!!
I go to the university of delaware and am currently rushing!
We just got done the first week and here are some tips i wish i would have known going into it.
📝 Make sure to also ask the girl you are talking to questions about themselves!
📝It’s not an interview! Don’t feel the need to be super formal try to show your personality
📝Make sure you have energy drinks! The day is long and your social battery can easily run out so having snacks and food is important
📝Don’t look into rankings or other opinions: Go into it with an open mind and don’t get disappointed if you get dropped from somewhere you want to go somewhere where they WANT you.
📝Lastly try to go into the experience having fun and not being too stressed. Being ok with outcomes and having fun is the best way to not get upset and finding the right place!

Hey everyone! Following up on my initial rush tips, I wanted to dive deeper into some of the questions and situations that can feel a bit like an interview during the sorority rushing process. It's totally normal to feel a little nervous, but remember what I said: it's not an interview in the traditional sense, more like a series of genuine conversations to see if you're a good fit for each other. One of the areas I noticed people are searching for is 'interview questions for sororities.' While there isn't a strict script, you can expect common themes. Sisters want to get to know YOU! Be prepared to talk about: Why you're interested in joining a sorority: Be authentic here. Is it for community, leadership, philanthropy, or personal growth? Share your genuine reasons. What you do for fun/hobbies: This is where your personality shines! Don't just list things; tell a short, engaging story. Do you love hiking, painting, or volunteering? Let them see your passion. Your academic interests/major: They want to know you're committed to your studies. What you're looking for in a sorority: This helps both of you determine if their chapter aligns with your values. Your strengths and weaknesses: Frame weaknesses as areas of growth, showing self-awareness. A time you faced a challenge and overcame it: This demonstrates resilience and problem-solving skills. My biggest piece of advice for these 'interview-like' chats? Flip the script! Just like I mentioned, ask them questions too. Not only does it show your interest, but it also makes the conversation flow more naturally and takes the pressure off you. Ask about their favorite sisterhood event, what they love most about their chapter, or how they balance academics with sorority life. This makes it a two-way street and helps you gauge if it's the right fit for *you*. Remember to have a few go-to stories ready that highlight your personality, values, and experiences. These aren't rehearsals, but having a mental bank of anecdotes can help you answer questions smoothly without sounding robotic. And yes, my tip about energy drinks and snacks is still golden! Recruitment days are long, and a natural, engaging conversation is much easier when you're not battling a sugar crash or low blood sugar. Lastly, keep that open mind. Don't stress too much about rankings or what others say. Trust your gut feeling. If a conversation clicks, and you feel genuinely happy and comfortable, that's where you belong. It's truly about finding your people and a place where you're wanted and can truly thrive. Embrace the journey, and happy rushing!
