Press Immediately: This is perhaps the most crucial step for preventing any residual curl. As soon as you take the hot shrinky dink out of the oven, quickly place a piece of parchment paper over it and then press it flat with a heavy, flat object. A thick book, a ceramic tile, or another baking sheet works perfectly. Hold it down for about 30 seconds to a minute until it cools and sets. This ensures your beautiful creations, like those adorable Bikini Bottom flowers or even a detailed 'Sorry cake', come out perfectly flat. Beyond the heating process, the type of plastic and even your drawing tools can influence the outcome. I learned the hard way that not all markers are created equal for shrinky dinks!
