Hey everyone! I'm so thrilled to share more about this comic chapter, 'Harley's First Adventure' (Ch 8, Part 1)! When I first envisioned Harley, I wanted to create a character that brought a mix of innocence and unexpected bravery to The Amazing Digital Circus. Watching this little polka-dotted rabbit-like character, who's technically only 'two days old' (as Jax, or the large rabbit-like character, hilariously points out), embark on such a grand journey is just a joy to illustrate. The idea for the labyrinth came from wanting to throw our new hero, Harley, right into the deep end. It's not just a maze; it's a place described with warnings of 'mythical creatures' and dangers like an 'ascertained road to death' due to 'unmatched rage.' I tried to capture the fear and excitement through Harley's wide, 'terrified and sweaty' eyes in some panels – that feeling of being overwhelmed but still moving forward. Bringing Zooble into this adventure alongside Harley felt natural. Zooble, depicted as this 'robot-like character,' often has such a unique way of expressing themselves. While I didn't want to explicitly show 'Zooble swearing,' I think their frustration with Jax ("THIS GUY... I SWEAR TO GOD...") perfectly captures that edgy but caring personality. It’s those small moments of Gangle reassuring Harley, "IT'S OKAY, HARLEY! YOU, ME, AND ZOOBLE CAN GO TOGETHER," that really highlight the group dynamic I love exploring in my 'TADC Harley comic.' For me, the most fun part about drawing a 'Harley TADC comic' is seeing these characters interact. Jax's casual dismissal of Harley's age, Zooble's exasperation, and Gangle's gentle nature all contribute to the chaotic but heartwarming spirit of the Digital Circus. The 'first checkpoint' in the labyrinth is just the beginning, and I can't wait for you all to see what other challenges and unexpected friends (or foes!) Harley and the gang will encounter. I really focused on the visual storytelling here, from the 'overhead view of a labyrinth' to the close-ups of characters like Gangle looking 'surprised or worried.' Every panel is designed to pull you deeper into Harley's world. This isn't just Harley's comic; it's an exploration of growth, friendship, and facing the unknown within the bizarre world of TADC. I hope you feel the excitement and a little bit of the terror as you follow along with Harley, Zooble, and their companions through this thrilling first part of chapter 8!
