This Is MILAN Italy
Visiting Milan, Italy, offers a rich tapestry of history, art, fashion, and cuisine. As Italy's financial hub, Milan seamlessly blends modernity with tradition, making it a vibrant destination for any traveler. My journey started with my trusty Milan book by Type 7 and hitting the road. My first stop was the Duomo do Milano.
The Duomo di Milano stands as the city's most iconic landmark. Its large Gothic cathedral took almost six centuries to build and is covered with thousands of intricate statues and spires. I wondered through its vast interior before settling in front of its beautiful stained glass windows. The details of the façade and the sheer scale of the cathedral make it a breathtaking experience and a must see when visiting.
After leaving the Duomo and grabbing some coffee from the world famous Marchesi bakery, it was off to see Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper.” This Renaissance masterpiece was a buck list piece of art that I couldn’t miss. Due to its delicate condition, visits are strictly controlled, and it's highly recommended to book tickets well in advance. Seeing this iconic mural in person provides a profound connection to art history and the genius of Leonardo.
Lastly, a trip to Milan cannot be completed without a visit to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, the oldest shopping mall and a marvel of 19th-century architecture. Its iron-and-glass roof covers has a bustling promenade filled with boutiques, cafes, and amazing people watching.
I could spend weeks in Milan and still never scratch the surface of what it offers. Its rich history, artistic heritage, and modern sophistication, makes it an essential stop for any traveler. While in Milan, don’t forget to enjoy the journey and keep an eye out for some amazing cars and great style.
Buon Viaggio!
