I've been trying to work on shading and highlights with different colors lately, working especially hard on the highlighting part. I've also wanted to work on some artwork of Fizz, but had a lot of trouble deciding on how to draw him.
I actually drew the second picture first, but never recorded a timelapse of it. I didn't want to just post that picture by itself, and that's when I got the idea of the other drawing too. The biggest inspiration was those changing 3D pictures, the ones where it's one image at one angle and changed to another at a different angle. If I could ever get these two pics printed like that, I totally would!!
... Read moreHey fellow Helluva Boss fans! ✨ I wanted to share a bit more about my journey creating these Fizzarolli fanart pieces, especially since so many of you are looking for art inspiration, PFPs, or just cool references of our favorite jester demon. I poured a lot of love into these, focusing on making his personality shine through both designs.
For the first version, you see Fizzarolli rocking his classic look with the pink shirt, red suspenders, and those iconic rainbow-striped pants. I really wanted to emphasize his playful, almost mischievous side here. Capturing his sharp teeth and those signature glowing red eyes was key to getting his expressive face just right. And of course, the little heart on his forehead adds that extra touch of charm! When I was working on the shading and highlights, my goal was to make him pop out, almost like he's ready to jump off the screen and perform. I think this rendition could make an amazing Fizzarolli PFP – it’s bright, recognizable, and full of his infectious energy!
Then, I went for a completely different vibe with the second artwork. This one features Fizz in a more edgy, alternative outfit: a cool fishnet top and ripped jeans, topped off with a vibrant colorful jester hat. I imagined him in a darker, more dynamic setting, which is why I experimented with those intense green and purple glowing effects around him. His glowing red and yellow eyes in this version give him a slightly more intense, perhaps even mysterious, look compared to the first. It was a fun challenge to show a different facet of his character while still keeping him unmistakably Fizzarolli. This version is fantastic if you're looking for a Fizzarolli reference that explores his versatility or a darker aesthetic for your own art projects.
Drawing Fizzarolli is always an adventure because his design is so rich with detail and expression. When I'm trying to nail his look, I always focus on his eyes – they convey so much emotion! And that wide, sharp-toothed grin? Absolutely essential for his funny face moments. Don't forget the small details like the heart on his forehead; they really make the character. Experimenting with different Fizzarolli colors and lighting scenarios, like the green and purple light here, can totally transform the mood of your piece.
I also tried to make sure these pieces could serve as good Fizzarolli references for anyone else out there who wants to draw him. Pay attention to how his limbs pose, the way his outfits drape, and of course, those fantastic facial expressions. Whether you're drawing him in his classic jester attire or imagining him in something new, remember to capture that energetic, slightly chaotic essence that makes him so beloved.
