Day one of our Detroit vacation we had so much fun
we Stopped at the Motown Museum for a tour and had a blast!
My favorite parts were seeing Michael Jackson’s glove, the candy machine where Stevie Wonder would get his baby ruths, Barry Gordys kitchen with the koolaid pitcher my Granny had, and standing next to a piano that had had 1,000’s of famous hands all over them keys

Oh, you absolutely HAVE to add the Motown Museum to your Detroit itinerary! I just wrapped up my visit to Hitsville U.S.A. and I'm still buzzing. I mean, standing in the very room where legends like The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, and Stevie Wonder recorded their iconic hits? It’s surreal! You can almost hear the echoes of those incredible voices. The black grand piano, which I saw, truly has a story to tell, having been touched by countless musical geniuses. It’s an incredibly moving experience to imagine the creative energy that pulsed through that space, producing so many chart-topping songs that defined generations. For anyone interested in the Motown Museum tour, Studio A is undoubtedly the emotional heart of the visit. Beyond Studio A, the museum is packed with treasures that bring the Motown story to life. Seeing Michael Jackson's sparkling glove and his fedora displayed so prominently gave me goosebumps – it really brings his incredible talent to life and reminds you of his incredible journey. And who would’ve thought a vintage candy machine could be so famous? Knowing it's where Stevie Wonder would grab his Baby Ruths adds such a charming, personal touch that makes you feel connected to these stars on a human level. Barry Gordy’s actual kitchen, complete with that familiar Kool-Aid pitcher, felt like stepping into a family home, reminding you of the humble beginnings of this musical empire. The walls adorned with original record labels and album covers, including the iconic Diana Ross presents The Jackson 5, tell the visual story of Motown's rise. I even learned about the fascinating history of the Tamla-Motown Festival from an old poster!
