New at Dunkin
Okay, so you know how much I love trying out new treats, and Dunkin' never disappoints with their seasonal offerings! This time, I just had to get my hands on their new Iced Strawberry Lemon Loaf Cake. My local Dunkin' had it prominently displayed, and honestly, the packaging and description alone made my mouth water. It's clearly labeled as the Dunkin Iced Strawberry Lemon Loaf Cake, and I noticed it mentions being NATURALLY FLAVORED WITH OTHER NATURAL FLAVORS, which is always a plus in my book. First impressions? Visually, it's really appealing. The loaf itself has a lovely golden hue, and it's generously drizzled with a creamy, pale pink icing. You can even see hints of strawberry throughout the cake, promising a fruity experience. It's perfectly portioned at NET WT 4 OZ (113g), which means it’s just right for a morning treat or an afternoon pick-me-up without feeling overly indulgent. It felt substantial enough to satisfy but not so big that it felt like too much for one person. Now for the taste test! The first bite was a delightful burst of flavor. The lemon is definitely present, bright and zesty, but it’s beautifully balanced by the sweet, fruity notes of strawberry. It's not overly tart, nor is it sickeningly sweet – Dunkin' really nailed the balance here. The cake itself is incredibly moist and tender, much more so than some other coffee shop loaves I’ve tried. It almost melts in your mouth! The icing adds another layer of sweetness and a smooth texture that complements the cake perfectly. It’s exactly what you’d hope for when you see 'iced' in the name, with just the right amount of glaze without making the loaf soggy. What I really appreciate is how the natural flavors shine through. You get that authentic lemon and strawberry taste, not an artificial, candy-like essence. It tastes fresh and summery, making it a fantastic choice for any time of year when you need a little sunshine in your day. I paired mine with a simple black coffee, and it was the ideal combination. The slight bitterness of the coffee cut through the sweetness of the loaf, enhancing both flavors. I think it would also be amazing with an iced tea or even a plain latte, especially a vanilla or caramel one for an extra treat. Compared to other Dunkin' baked goods, this loaf feels a bit more gourmet and sophisticated. It’s less dense than a brownie but more substantial than a doughnut. If you're a fan of lemon desserts or anything strawberry-flavored, you absolutely must give this a try. It’s a comforting yet refreshing treat that’s perfect for breakfast, a snack, or even a light dessert. For its price point, I honestly think it offers great value for a quality, delicious pastry. I'd definitely recommend picking up the Dunkin Iced Strawberry Lemon Loaf Cake on your next visit. It’s quickly become one of my new favorites, and I bet it will be yours too!
