Got Trampled!

After hearing so much buzz, I finally made it to Trampled by Tacos on Highway 280 in Birmingham, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! While my friends and I went specifically for the new fried chicken tacos (which were absolutely delicious, by the way – crispy chicken with just the right amount of kick!), I was blown away by the sheer variety on their menu, making it clear why so many locals rave about this spot. Beyond the amazing tacos, we dove into their incredible happy hour specials. Those $6 margaritas are a total steal and the perfect complement to their intensely flavorful dishes. We also explored some other gems on the menu. If you’re anything like me and love a good platter to share, their 'Al Pastor Build Your Own Nachos' looked absolutely incredible – piled high with black beans, fresh pineapple pico, sour cream, and plenty of gooey queso. It’s definitely on my list for next time, especially after seeing how generously loaded they were. My friend, being a burrito connoisseur, opted for 'The Reef & Beef Burrito,' which was packed to the brim with tender steak and succulent shrimp, alongside tomatoes, rice, black beans, sweet roasted corn, onions, and a creamy cilantro ranch. It was not only huge but looked incredibly satisfying. For those who prefer a hearty bowl, they cater to that too with unique options like the 'SWEE Be. or Hot Daddy Hot Burrito' and a 'Build Your Own Black Bean Dip Steak Bowl Chicken,' featuring grilled steak or chicken with lettuce, corn, pico, and shredded cilantro ranch. The menu even mentioned 'Fried chicken tenders' as a new addition, which sounds like a fantastic appetizer or a simpler option if you're not in the mood for tacos. For taco enthusiasts, beyond the fantastic fried chicken, they offer a customizable 'Taco Trio' and specific options like the 'Yo, Adrian Steak' taco, laden with grilled onion, peppers, and rich queso. Another standout was the 'Guacin' on Sunshine Shrimp,' featuring fresh pineapple pico and that delicious cilantro ranch with queso fresco. And if you're still craving more fried chicken, the 'Feisty Pollo Fried Chicken' taco is another must-try. They even have 'Mahi Tan Lines' for refreshing fish tacos and 'Barbacoa Low and Slow' for those who appreciate slow-cooked, tender meats. What truly impressed me was the freshness and quality of the ingredients – from the vibrant pineapple pico to the perfectly roasted corn and the zesty cilantro ranch, everything tasted incredibly fresh and well-prepared. The portions are generous, ensuring you leave feeling satisfied, and the atmosphere is lively and inviting, perfect for a casual night out with friends or a quick bite. Whether you're craving classic street tacos, loaded nachos, or a hearty burrito, Trampled by Tacos has something delicious for everyone. Seriously, don't miss out on their happy hour! It’s quickly become one of my favorite spots for a flavorful and fun meal right here in Birmingham.
