South of Midnight

But the game always stayed in the back of my mind. There was just something about it that pulled me back in. Fast forward to getting my hands on the new Switch 2! I knew exactly what my first big game was going to be. Re-downloading 'South of Midnight' felt like reuniting with an old friend. The portability of the Switch 2 really made a difference for me this time around. I could pick it up for a quick session during my commute, or settle down on the couch for a longer dive into its rich narrative. It allowed me to immerse myself fully without the pressure of a big-screen setup, which was perfect for its intricate storytelling. What truly stands out for me in 'South of Midnight' is its incredible protagonist. I mean, just look at her! The details are phenomenal—from her dark skin and beautifully braided hair to the striking purple eyeshadow and those gorgeous gold hoop earrings. Her character design, especially the unique dark, detailed top with straps and armbands, and even the decorative object she carries on her back, just screams personality. There’s another character I loved too, with her cool green bandana. It’s these visual touches that make the world feel so alive and unique. The game doesn't just tell a story; it shows you one through its stunning character models and environments. The story itself is a beautiful blend of folklore and adventure, exploring themes that really resonate.
