If there is no permanent identity, then who takes karma?

If "we" isn't a permanent lump,

If the mind is just a birth-extinguished stream

So who gets the results of karma?

The Buddha clearly replied,

Not exactly the same person

And not a different person.

Karma does not have a permanent owner.

But there is a continuity of cause and effect.
