Using up my makeup
I have so much makeup, and even though I put that shxt on and enjoy it, I really want to get to use more of my makeup and not with boring looks either. I feel like the fun of makeup disappeared for a while.
Embarking on a 'Project Hit Pan' journey is more than just using up makeup; it's about mindful consumption, rediscovering forgotten gems, and reigniting the joy of your beauty routine. Many of us, myself included, accumulate vast collections, often feeling overwhelmed rather than excited by the sheer volume. This year, I'm fully committing to my Project Hit Pan Foundation edition 2025, specifically targeting those luxury foundations and other products that deserve to be loved and finished. So, how do you start your own Project Hit Pan? First, take an honest inventory of your collection. What products do you have multiples of? What's nearing its expiration date? What do you genuinely love but rarely reach for? For me, a key focus is foundation. I've chosen my Valentino Light-Lasting Perfecting Foundation, which doubles as a broad-spectrum SPF sunscreen, as a primary pan-project item. Picking one or two foundations, a few eyeshadows, a lipstick, and perhaps a blush can make the goal feel achievable without being daunting. Don't feel pressured to pick too many items at once; the goal is consistent use, not rapid depletion. Once you’ve selected your products, integrate them into your daily routine. This might mean getting creative. Can that shimmery eyeshadow be used as a highlighter? Can a lipstick double as a cream blush? For my Valentino Light-Lasting Foundation, I make sure to apply it every day I wear makeup, appreciating its texture and finish. Tracking your progress can also be incredibly motivating. Snap a 'before' picture, or mark the product level with a permanent marker. Seeing that progress, even small dips in the product, provides a huge boost. Beyond simply emptying products, Project Hit Pan offers numerous benefits. It encourages you to explore your existing collection more deeply, often leading to the rediscovery of formulas you once loved. It also curbs impulsive buying habits, saving you money and reducing waste. There’s a profound satisfaction in hitting pan on a product, knowing you’ve fully utilized what you purchased. It sparks creativity, forcing you to use products in new ways, and fosters a sense of appreciation for the items you already own. Of course, there are challenges. You might get bored of using the same products, or a new release might tempt you. That's okay! It's not about perfection; it's about progress. If you find yourself truly disliking a product, it's perfectly fine to declutter it. The goal is to love your makeup, not to endure it. Remember, makeup is meant to be fun and expressive. By focusing on using what we have, we can make our makeup routine more intentional, joyful, and sustainable. Let's embrace this challenge and celebrate every hit pan together!
