Have you seen what’s in this documentary? 😟 #plasticdetox #netflix #microplastics
After watching this eye-opening documentary on microplastics, it’s clear how deeply these tiny particles have infiltrated our daily lives. I was especially shocked to learn that microplastics are not only in the environment but also inside our personal care products, including toothpaste, deodorants, and lotions. This means we're unknowingly ingesting and absorbing microplastics through our skin and mouths. What stood out most for me was the estimate that humans might be ingesting the equivalent of a credit card’s worth of plastic every week through common foods and products. This revelation encouraged me to review my consumption habits and product choices carefully. To reduce microplastic exposure, I started by avoiding items with synthetic microbeads and switched to more natural and zero-waste personal care brands. Simple acts like tearing paper packaging instead of cutting to prevent shedding microplastic fibers and supporting sustainable products can collectively make a difference. The documentary also highlighted how microplastics travel globally, reaching even remote places like the Everest peak, reminding us this is a widespread problem affecting the planet's health. Sharing experiences and knowledge about microplastic pollution helps build awareness. I encourage others to educate themselves and make conscious choices that support not only personal wellness but also environmental health. These small changes matter as we all work towards a cleaner, healthier world.
