Taste of Asia
Food I tried in Bangkok
Bangkok is truly a paradise for food lovers seeking authentic Asian cuisine. One of the highlights I experienced was the unique fusion dish at McDonald’s Bangkok: their congee, which offers a comforting twist on traditional fast food. It’s a perfect start for those looking to try local staples with a familiar brand. In addition to congee, I highly recommend trying the baby pineapple paired with peppers. The combination of sweet and spicy creates a refreshing palate cleanser that is unlike anything I’ve tasted before. Another memorable dish was the pork bone soup and braised pork, which was rich, savory, and deeply satisfying after a day of exploring. If you’re a fan of noodles, the Thai stir fry chicken noodles (“Thai Stri Fry Ck Noodles”) bring a vibrant and aromatic flavor, combining fresh ingredients and bold seasonings. The Thai boat noodles also deliver an authentic street food experience, with their fragrant broth and tender meats. For a curry lover, the pork katsu curry stands out—crispy pork cutlets served with a rich, spicy curry sauce that warms you up instantly. Complementing these are Korean side dishes that add a nice contrast and variety to your meal. Don’t miss out on the seafood offerings either, especially the jumbo deep-fried prawns which provide a crispy, succulent bite that captures the essence of Bangkok’s fresh seafood market. Pineapple fried rice is a classic that combines sweet, sour, and savory notes, often served inside a hollowed pineapple, making it both tasty and visually appealing. Lastly, duck dishes provide a hearty and flavorful option for those wanting to explore beyond the typical chicken and pork meals. Overall, Bangkok’s food scene is a delightful mix of traditional and innovative dishes that will satisfy any food enthusiast’s cravings. Whether you prefer street food stalls or casual dining spots, each dish tells a story of the city’s rich culinary heritage.
