how I filed my taxes wrking freelance in marketing

filing taxes as a freelance marketing professional was honestly confusing at first—no one really prepares you for it! i wasn’t sure what counted as income, what i could write off, or how to even start.

what helped me most was tracking everything early: i kept a spreadsheet of all the money i made from clients, saved every invoice, and logged any business-related expenses (like software, wifi, or even coffee shop workdays).

i used turbo tax to file all of my taxes. i had to dedicate time to sitting down and going through everything, but doing it online made it much more simple and easy!

i also set aside about 25-30% of what i earned for taxes, so i wouldn’t be caught off guard when it came time to pay. using a tax prep software made it way easier—and if you’re unsure, it’s always worth talking to a professional.

if you’re freelancing in marketing or thinking about it, save this for later and start staying organized now—it’ll save you major stress later on!
