perks of working at a big tech company in austin

📈 clear growth paths

i love working corporate because there’s often room to grow *within* the company. knowing that my growth potential is high, my peers are supportive of my growth, and I can really foster relationships with such a big network is the best. this is great for post grad too, it’s important to be at a company for at least 2 years before moving up somewhere else!

🩺 benefits programs

adulting comes with responsibilities like making sure i can take care of myself and loved ones long term! most corporate job usually come with 401k matching, healthcare, dental/vision, mental health support, and paid time off—all things that really gave me the peace of mind and work-life stability.

💬 soft skills that stick

corporate life teaches you how to advocate for yourself, manage up, communicate cross-functionally, and give/receive feedback—all crucial no matter what industry you end up in. I really feel confident while presenting in a conference room full of strangers, having tough conversations with my manager, all the things that will contribute to my personable skills and career growth.

🧱 resume-building experience

having a corporate brand on your resume helps open doors later!! it shows you can work in a structured environment, meet deadlines, and contribute to team-wide success. before this job, I was working freelance - I got almost zero opportunities at big companies and well known brands. my current employer works with post grad students, it’s important that I start here and build my resume to make myself reputable for future opportunities.
