This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write, but I’m asking for help for my family.

My husband has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer, and our world was turned upside down in an instant. Watching the person you love most fight something so terrifying is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. He is incredibly strong, but this journey has already taken so much from him—his energy, his health, and his ability to work.

Right now, he is unable to work due to his cancer and treatments. I am working, but even with that, I am struggling to keep our family afloat. We have two daughters who depend on us, and every day I’m doing my best to stay strong for them while quietly worrying about how we are going to make it through this.

His treatments require frequent trips to Dallas, sometimes 2–3 times a week every two weeks. Each trip comes with expenses—gas, food, hospital stays, medications, and copays that add up faster than we ever imagined. There are also home health needs, medical supplies, and unexpected costs that continue to arise. It feels like the bills never stop, and some days it’s overwhelming just trying to keep up.

We created a GoFundMe to help cover:

Oncologist and specialist copays

Travel and gas expenses for treatment in Dallas

Food while traveling

Hospital stays

Home health care

Medications and medical supplies

Any unexpected expenses related to his colon cancer

Asking for help doesn’t come easily to us, but right now we truly need it. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to our family and help relieve some of the weight we are carrying. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this post or keeping us in your prayers means just as much.

Please keep my husband in your thoughts as he continues to fight this battle with everything he has. We are holding on to hope, faith, and the love of our family and friends to carry us through.

Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with us during one of the most difficult seasons of our lives. 💙

... Read moreFacing a Stage 3 Colon Cancer diagnosis brings immense challenges not only physically but also emotionally and financially for the patient and their family. Colon cancer at this stage usually requires aggressive treatment, including surgery, chemotherapy, and regular visits to specialized oncologists, often located far from home, causing significant travel costs. The frequent trips to Dallas, as shared by the family, highlight a common hardship many cancer patients face—balancing treatment schedules with the financial strain of travel expenses, hospital stays, and medication costs. Managing these can quickly overwhelm a household, especially when the primary breadwinner is unable to work. In addition to conventional treatment, patients often need home health care to manage side effects and maintain daily needs which incur additional costs for medical supplies and support. Community support through platforms like GoFundMe has become essential for many families, providing a way for friends, extended family, and even compassionate strangers to contribute to covering the growing expenses associated with cancer care. If you or someone you know is supporting a loved one through a similar journey, practical tips include organizing local fundraising events, seeking assistance from cancer support organizations, and using social networks to spread awareness and financial support appeals. Furthermore, coping with cancer demands immense emotional strength—not just for patients but also for caregivers and children involved. Keeping hope alive through faith, love, and community connection plays a vital role in the healing journey. By donating or sharing this family's story, you contribute to lessening their financial and emotional burden in these arduous times. Every act of kindness, large or small, helps sustain their fight and supports the care they desperately need.
