Rating lip products

Finding the perfect everyday lip product can feel like a never-ending quest, right? We all want something that feels good, looks great, and doesn't require constant reapplication or worry. Based on my own experience trying out so many different formulas, I've learned that what makes a lip product truly shine for daily use often comes down to a few key factors: hydration, comfort, and how well it complements your natural look. When I'm looking for a go-to product, I prioritize items that are genuinely moisturizing and hydrating. There's nothing worse than a lip product that dries out your lips, no matter how pretty the color is! That's why I'm always drawn to options like the ELF Squeeze Me Lip Balm or the Summer Fridays Lip Balm. Both of these are fantastic for infusing lips with moisture and giving a lovely, subtle tint that's perfect for a natural, effortless vibe. They feel so comfortable, you almost forget you're wearing anything at all. Then there are lip glosses, which can be tricky for everyday. While I love a good shiny finish, sticky glosses are a definite no-go for me during the day. I mean, who wants their hair constantly sticking to their lips? That's why the NYX Butter Gloss and Maybelline Lifter Gloss have become absolute staples in my collection. They are incredibly smooth, deliver amazing shine, and most importantly, they are not sticky! This makes them ideal for everyday wear, giving you that juicy lip look without the hassle. On the other hand, while the Glossier Lip Gloss is undeniably pretty and shiny, I found it to be a little sticky, which makes it less of an everyday choice for me, though still great for specific occasions. Lip serums are another category that promises a lot, but they can be hit or miss for daily use. I experimented with the Makeup by Mario Lip Serum, and while I liked the colors, I found it to be grainy and not hydrating enough for my needs. For an everyday product, I really need something that feels nourishing and smooth, not like it's exfoliating my lips! Sometimes, a product marketed as a 'serum' might offer benefits, but if it doesn't feel comfortable or perform as expected in terms of hydration, it won't earn a spot in my daily rotation. Finally, some products, while amazing, are just better suited for specific moments. Take the Tarte Maracuja Lip Plump, for instance. It has a lovely minty feel and a beautiful dark color that’s gorgeous, but it didn't quite deliver on the plumping effect for me, and the darker shade isn't always what I reach for on a casual Tuesday. For daily wear, I generally gravitate towards lighter, more versatile shades that blend seamlessly with any outfit or mood. Ultimately, it's all about finding what makes you feel confident and comfortable throughout your day. Don't be afraid to experiment to discover your own perfect everyday lip product!
