Stay safe driving in snow!

Backstory:

The other day, I drove out to Oakridge to get my brother and his buddy after a 4-car accident. As far as I know, no one suffered any serious injuries. Everyone involved was conscious at the time, and my people were ultimately okay. Just make sure to keep your wits about you and slow it down if you have to drive in the snow.

P.S. this is my car lol

This means having a functional heating system, anti-freeze fluids, and appropriate winter tires. Before you hit the road, check the weather forecast and avoid unnecessary travel during severe storms. If you must drive, adjust your speed accordingly; slower speeds can significantly reduce your risk of losing control on slippery surfaces. It’s also vital to maintain a safe following distance, as it takes longer to stop on icy roads. Moreover, familiarize yourself with techniques such as gentle steering and braking to avoid skids. If you find yourself beginning to slide, steer into the direction of the skid. Always carry emergency supplies like blankets, food, and a flashlight in case you become stranded. In addition, having a charged phone and a portable charger can be a lifesaver for emergency communication. Finally, consider taking a winter driving course if you want to improve your skills further. By following these practical guidelines, you can enhance your safety and confidence when driving in snowy conditions.
