why i stopped drinking coffee!

i used to LOVE coffee, i would drink it nearly everyday since i was about 13. but over time i noticed i was having constant headaches, stomach aches, and mood swings. it became my normal and i couldn’t figure out what was wrong. i never associated it with coffee or even thought about it. years went by and i kept having those symptoms, never thinking about it twice. that’s when i went on a trip and didn’t have any coffee the entire week. just water. i had never felt better. i went back home, started my normal routine (which included drinking coffee) and i felt absolutely terrible. that’s when i made the connection that it was coffee. i’ve always done fine with caffeine in teas, sodas, etc. so it was really weird that coffee was effecting me this way. i figured out that coffee is MUCH more acidic than any other source of caffeine and that causes some of the problems i had experienced. it’s SO important to listen to your body and be intuitive to what you are feeling and what works for you.

here’s what i drink instead!

• matcha (ceremonial grade)

• chai (with oat milk)

• fruit drinks (pink drink, dragon drink)

• thai tea

• winter melon tea

... Read moreFor many, coffee is a daily necessity, but it's not without its side effects. Some individuals experience adverse reactions to coffee due to its high acidity, which can lead to discomfort such as headaches and digestive issues. It’s essential to recognize how your body responds to different caffeinated beverages. While coffee is popular, alternatives such as matcha, a finely powdered green tea packed with antioxidants, are gaining traction. Matcha provides a more stable energy boost without the jitters associated with coffee. Additionally, chai tea offers a flavorful, lower-acid option and can be enjoyed with plant-based milk for those seeking a creamy texture. Herbal teas and fruit-infused drinks are also great alternatives, providing hydration and varied flavors. Listening to your body and making informed beverage choices can significantly enhance your overall health and mood, just as it did for me.

Yes! I was the exact same way, until I found matcha. Now I drink matcha all the time and only allow myself a latte 1-2 times a month
