This is a must book review!

I been wanting to post this for a while. But this book was a disappointment. It had a good story plot but the main character’s dialogue was whack in small part when she talks she sounded like a Gen Z person when the book takes place at least around 500-1000BC or something. It wasn’t that exciting it was kinda vague like no offense to the author but just the writing was kinda bad mostly from the way the maid character spoke honestly I don’t recommend this book. This book is far the worse book I have ever read. Honestly sounds like a 12-15yr old Wattpad writer. I know I’m dissing hard I know the author must be a wonderful person but the making character just didn’t sound like she was born in that era. I also wish it was a little more romantic.

... Read moreIn the realm of fantasy literature, character authenticity is crucial for immersing readers in the story. In 'The Last Dragon King,' the author Leia Stone presents a captivating plot drawn from the genre’s best elements, yet falls short in execution, particularly through dialogue that feels anachronistic. Readers often expect characters to reflect their respective eras—be it through speech, behavior, or overall attributes—especially when the narrative is set centuries ago. Critics have pointed out that the protagonist's dialogue resonates more with a modern Gen Z audience rather than the historical context, creating a disconnect that detracts from the overall reading experience. Such discrepancies can lead to a less engaging narrative and may leave readers feeling alienated from the story's world. Additionally, the critique of romantic elements suggests that readers are seeking deeper emotional connections and more nuanced relationships between characters. For those intrigued by fantasy genres that explore rich worlds and complex characters, alternatives like 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' or 'The Name of the Wind' might provide more fulfilling experiences. Understanding reader expectations is vital for writers to create immersive and enjoyable narratives. This review serves as a cautionary note for both authors and readers in the fantasy genre.
