YouTube is a platform where you don’t know how or when it will grow. Literally this is my progression from the beginning of Oct til now 😭 off one video it struck gold but the catch will be to keep a community of individuals who are here for me and not off one video. I’ve come to the acceptance however this might not last long but I will enjoy the goal I’ve reached currently. If you want to connect please go check out my YouTube & don’t forget to subscribe 💕 #youtubegoal#regulargirlaesthetic

... Read moreWow, it’s still surreal seeing that 500-subscriber milestone in my YouTube Studio App! 🎉 You know, hitting these numbers isn't just about the views; it's about building a community. And honestly, one of the most motivating tools for me has been the 'Recent Subscribers' section right there in the YouTube Studio App.
When I first started my channel, 'Black Modesty,' I was just putting out content like my 'Fall Vlogs' and those wig reviews – remember the '$109 5x5 30 inch deal' video? I had no idea who was watching or subscribing. But then I discovered the 'Recent Subscribers' section. It's a game-changer for understanding your audience!
You can find it easily. On your desktop, just head to your YouTube Studio dashboard, and on the left sidebar, click 'Analytics.' Then, scroll down a bit, and you’ll see the 'Recent Subscribers' card. On the mobile app, it’s also typically on your main dashboard or under the 'Analytics' tab. It shows you a list of your newest subscribers, usually those who have made their subscriptions public. It won't show everyone, because some people prefer to keep their subscriptions private, which is totally fair.
But for those who are public, you can actually see their channel names and the date they subscribed! This might sound small, but for a creator like me, it's huge. It's like a personal shout-out list. I've often clicked on their channels to see what kind of content they enjoy or create. It helps me get a better feel for the community I'm building. For instance, after I posted my 'Perfect Curly Winter Time Wig' video, I noticed a surge of new subscribers, and checking that section helped me confirm that particular content resonated well.
It's also a fantastic way to engage. Sometimes, if a new public subscriber has comments on my videos, I'll make sure to give their comment a special heart or reply, making them feel seen and appreciated. Building that connection is what truly makes YouTube special, beyond just the numbers.
One thing to remember is that this section updates frequently, so it’s always fresh. And don't be discouraged if it doesn't show hundreds of names right away. Even seeing a handful of new names every day or week is a sign of growth. For me, seeing those numbers increase from 367 to 435, then 490, and finally past 500, visible right there in the app, was incredibly motivating. It pushed me to keep making videos, whether it was another 'Fall Makeup Edition' or even something like 'NURSING Frequently asked Q&A' – content that truly represents me.
So, if you're a budding YouTuber, don't just chase the big numbers. Dive into your YouTube Studio App, explore that 'Recent Subscribers' section. It’s not just data; it’s people. It’s your community growing, one subscriber at a time. It truly makes the journey feel more personal and rewarding!
