I’ve noticed that when people enter relationships already expecting them to end, it often prevents them from fully investing emotionally or building trust. This approach might stem from a fear of commitment or a desire to avoid vulnerability, but it can also lead to a cycle of short-lived relationships that don’t truly fulfill either partner. From conversations with friends and reading various perspectives online, it seems that dating with breakup intent is sometimes used as a way to protect oneself from potential heartbreak. However, this mindset might hinder personal growth and the chance to learn about compatibility, communication, and compromise. Instead, many suggest focusing on genuine connection and honest communication about intentions and expectations to foster healthier relationships. Navigating dating in today’s world is challenging, and people use different strategies depending on their past experiences and emotional readiness. Rather than planning relationships to fail, I’ve found more value in approaching dating with openness and a willingness to explore where it can naturally lead, even if that includes the possibility of eventual parting. This balanced perspective allows for deeper experiences and learning opportunities, rather than perpetuating disillusionment or detachment.
