From my own experience, it's often less about fault and more about where and how someone looks for potential partners. Many times, the challenge arises because people aren't actively participating in gay spaces or communities where meaningful connections are more likely to occur. For instance, if someone is trying to meet others but rarely attends LGBTQ+ events, social groups, or online forums dedicated to the community, it can feel as if no one is interested in engaging. However, the reality is that these spaces foster understanding, open communication, and shared experiences that help build trust and attraction. Another factor to consider is one's approach—thinking critically about how to start conversations, listen genuinely, and be receptive to different experiences can drastically improve dating outcomes. It's important to remember that dating isn't a one-way street, and blaming gay men for not responding might overlook the environmental and social dynamics at play. Being in the right environments and showing genuine openness can create opportunities for deeper connections. Struggling with dating is a shared experience, and embracing community engagement and authentic communication can make the journey more rewarding and less lonely.
