In late 2014, Sony Pictures faced one of the biggest hacking incidents in Hollywood history; enormous information was made public; both executive emails, business plans, and film projects were never revealed.
But for Spider-Man fans, the most shocking thing is not the information that comes off.
But it's the "truth" hidden behind this hero.
🕸️ After the failure of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the Sony interior was full of confusion; they tried to create their own Spider-Man universe; both Sinister Six, Venom, and several spin-off projects.
Meanwhile, leaked emails also revealed that Marvel Studios and Sony were discussing the possibility of getting Spider-Man into the MCU, including a suggestion from Kevin Feige to the direction of the franchise.
⚖️ There is no evidence to confirm that the "hack" was the only reason Spider-Man got into the MCU, because negotiations began before the incident.
