But I really wanted to dive deeper into what that means to me and, I think, to a lot of us in the Slenderverse community, especially when we talk about Marble Hornets. When I say 'Kyers,' I’m really talking about all those intricate layers and fan-generated discussions that revolve around Alex Kralie and Jay Merrick (often mistaken for Evan by some, or sometimes Evan is a separate character depending on how you interpret the wider ARG connections like EverymanHYBRID, where Evan is a significant character). In Marble Hornets, Alex's transformation and descent into antagonist, and Jay’s relentless pursuit of truth, form the absolute core of the series. Their dynamic isn't just about good versus evil; it's about obsession, corruption, and the terrifying influence of the Operator. For many of us, including myself, the 'silly Alex and Evan things' are those moments where you try to make sense of their actions, or you find humor and humanity in the horror. It’s about dissecting their often-strained interactions, their past friendship, and how everything unravels. We create theories, we ship characters, and we speculate endlessly about what could have been or what truly happened behind the scenes. 'Kyers' could be a fan shorthand for specific theories about Alex's motives, or perhaps a ship name for fan pairings, or even just a general term for the deep dives we do into their character arcs and how they intertwine with the larger Slenderverse mythos. Think about Alex's early arrogance versus his later, chilling dedication to 'saving' everyone by extreme means. Or Jay's increasing desperation and paranoia as he gets closer to the truth. These aren't just characters; they're complex studies in psychological horror. The way Marble Hornets unfolded, primarily through found footage, left so much open to interpretation, which is why fan communities thrive on discussing these 'Kyers' moments. We try to fill in the gaps, imagine alternative scenarios, or just appreciate the sheer terror and brilliance of the storytelling. I personally love looking back at the earlier entries where Alex and Jay still had some semblance of a normal life, before the Operator truly took hold. Those are the 'silly' moments – the innocent beginnings that make the later tragedy even more impactful. And then there are the 'silly' theories we come up with, trying to connect dots that were never explicitly shown. For example, did Alex truly believe he was doing good?
