... Read moreHey everyone! So thrilled to finally share Part 2 of my FNAF AU deep dive! If you're as obsessed with Five Nights at Freddy's as I am, you know how much fun it is to explore the endless possibilities within our favorite horror game universe. This is all about what we touched upon in FNAFAUPt2 – getting into the nitty-gritty of fan creations and canon debates. FNAF AUs, or Alternative Universes, are seriously one of the most creative aspects of the fandom. It's where we get to imagine all those 'what if' scenarios that the main games don't cover. What if the animatronics were never possessed? What if the timeline was completely different? These fan universes truly let our imaginations run wild, adding new dimensions to the lore we love. I've seen so many unique fnaf universes out there, from lighthearted slice-of-life stories to dark, gritty retellings that push the boundaries of horror even further. It's amazing how much variety there is, and it really shows the passion of the FNAF community. A big question that always sparks heated (but fun!) discussions is about canon. For example, are the Twisted Animatronics canon? This is where it gets a bit complex, right? Because the FNAF universe isn't just the games; we also have the books. The Twisted Animatronics, with their disturbing, nightmare-inducing designs, originate from the 'Fazbear Frights' book series, specifically 'The Twisted Ones'. So, within the book's continuity, they are absolutely canon! However, whether they directly influence the game's lore is a separate debate that keeps us theorists busy. It’s fascinating how Scott Cawthon has built a world that allows for these different narrative branches, giving us so much to discuss and analyze. Speaking of iconic characters, let’s talk about retro FNAF 2 Toy Chica. She’s such a fan-favorite, and her design just screams for AU interpretations! Her bright colors, detachable beak, and overall 'toy' aesthetic make her particularly interesting for reimagining. I’ve personally come across fnafau concepts where she’s a pop star, a cybersecurity expert, or even a vigilante. Her distinct look makes her instantly recognizable, yet versatile enough for creators to mold her into entirely new roles without losing her essence. It really highlights how a single character can inspire countless creative concepts within different FNAF universes. If you're thinking of creating your own FNAF AU, my biggest tip is to just go for it! Start with a concept that excites you, whether it's a character you want to explore deeper or a historical event in the FNAF world you want to alter. Don't be afraid to experiment with new settings, personalities, or even genres. The beauty of AUs is that there are no strict rules – it's all about your unique vision and sharing it with a community that appreciates creativity. Whether you're exploring existing fnaf universes or building your own, the alternative universe concept adds so much depth and replayability to the FNAF world. It's a testament to how rich and engaging the original story is that it continues to inspire so many amazing variations and discussions. What are some of your favorite FNAF AUs or specific canon theories? Drop your thoughts below – I’d love to hear them!
