... Read moreYou know that feeling when you stumble upon something truly spectacular in nature? That’s exactly how I felt when I discovered this incredible regal moth! I mean, wow. Its vibrant orange and yellow patterns were just breathtaking, making it stand out against the greenery around it. I was lucky enough to get a few close-up shots, and the detail on its wings and body is just phenomenal. What really caught my eye were those distinctive horn-like structures—it’s no wonder people sometimes search for ‘moth with horns’ or ‘horned moth’! This magnificent creature, also known as the Royal Walnut Moth, truly lives up to its 'regal' name. It’s quite large, and its furry body felt so soft when it delicately perched on my finger for a moment. It wasn't creepy at all, just utterly beautiful and fascinating. The way its contrasting colors popped was a sight I won't soon forget. It even rested on the open palm of my hand for a bit, allowing me to fully appreciate its intricate beauty before it fluttered off. Seeing such a perfectly preserved specimen made me think about the entire regal moth life cycle, from its journey as a horned caterpillar to becoming this stunning adult. It’s a testament to the wonders of metamorphosis. While some might think moths are plain or even a 'sign of the devil,' moments like these totally change your perspective. They are truly beautiful insects, often overlooked, but with such incredible colors and textures. If you ever get the chance to spot one, especially one with such striking orange and yellow markings, take a moment to admire it. It's an experience that really connects you with the natural world. I'm so glad I got to capture these moments!

Everyone is so scared of them, but did you know they don’t have working mouths and only live for a couple of weeks? So they can’t bite you even if they wanted to 🥰 This is their final stage of life, with the only purpose is to breed, and then pass away. I wish they stayed this way longer, it’s so sad.
