Yesterday, I had a major dental procedure

Two years ago, I had a root canal and crown done at Dental Care at Prairie Crossing When I went in for my last cleaning, my dental hygienist noticed an infection at the site and had the attending dentist verify it. The attending referred me to an outside specialist to have the root canal site cleaned out. If I'm being honest, it took me a lot to get comfortable with my current dentist and his staff. I've had multiple - let's go with not so great encounters with previous dentists. Ordinarily, it gives me anxiety. This is the first dental office I've been comfortable enough to see regularly. I've even made it a habit not to skip my cleanings. It doesn't matter who does it. The dental assistants and hygienists are all proficient and professional. The infection comes and goes. It had been coming and going even before my root canal. I elected not to put myself through the stress of seeing yet another specialist. As it happens, the crown broke. I called the office. They got me in the next day. My regular dentist, Dr. Whiteside examined the site. He put me on antibiotics and scheduled to clean out the area of the infection as well as to replace the crown. My Alyssah drove me to all these appointments. Yesterday, Dr. Whiteside and Kaitlyn performed the lengthy procedure and put on a temporary. Part way through the process, I was shivering. They brought me a blanket to make me more comfortable. I appreciate it. They scheduled delivery of my permanent crown with my daughter Alyssah. I appreciate their care, professionalism, proficiency, expertise, and kindness. If you're anything like me and have more doctors than you can keep track of and/or experience anxiety seeing the dentist, I would recommend Dental Care at Prairie Crossing.

Root canal therapy aims to remove infected pulp tissue and seal the tooth to prevent reinfection; however, complications such as crown breakage or residual infection may necessitate further treatment. It is crucial to consult skilled dental professionals who can accurately diagnose issues such as infection at the root canal site and provide effective care, including antibiotic therapy and site cleaning or retreatment. A supportive dental team plays a vital role in patient comfort, especially for those experiencing dental anxiety. Personalized care, effective communication, and empathetic approaches can improve patient compliance with routine dental visits and treatments, preventing escalation of dental problems. Temporary crowns, placed after procedures to protect treated teeth, are essential to maintain tooth integrity until the permanent crown is fabricated and fitted. Patients should promptly report any damage like crown breakage to ensure timely dental intervention. Follow-up appointments are necessary to monitor healing and schedule permanent restorations. Choosing a trusted dental care provider, as evidenced in this experience at Dental Care at Prairie Crossing, ensures that patients receive proficient, professional, and kind treatment, helping them overcome anxiety and maintain optimal oral health. Recognizing signs of infection and addressing dental emergencies quickly through antibiotics, clinical examination, and restorative procedures can significantly improve outcomes and patient comfort.
